Mit seiner Entscheidung in der Rechtssache Protect (C-664/15) vom 20. Dezember 2017 hat der EuGH ausgesprochen, dass eine nach nationalem Recht gegründete Umweltorganisation im wasserrechtlichen Bewilligungsverfahren Parteistellung hat. Dieses Urteil und seine Folgen für das Verwaltungsrecht werden im Rahmen des Vortrags diskutiert.
