Today and tomorrow, around 600 MedUni Vienna graduates will take their academic oath in front of their families, friends and acquaintances. Rector Markus Müller and Vice Rectors Anita Rieder, Michaela Fritz and Volkan Talazoglu will present the graduation certificates. In the 2023/24 academic year, a total of 717 future doctors and dentists successfully completed their medical studies in Vienna.
Around 70 of the 129 PhD graduates will also receive their certificates at this event. With Benedikt Siebbrunner, there is even a "Promotio sub auspiciis Praesidentis rei publicae".
This year, the ceremonies will take place for the twelfth time around four weeks before Christmas in the atmospheric setting of the Vienna Konzerthaus. A total of around 8,000 guests are expected at the world-famous concert venue.
Around 8,000 students are currently enrolled at MedUni Vienna, the majority of whom are studying for a degree in human and dental medicine. 95% of students successfully complete their studies.
The next step in the graduates’ careers is to train as a medical specialist or intern in a hospital or teaching practice, or to pursue an academic degree.
