Offer Description

The Department of Natural Sciences and Sustainable Ressources, Institute of Analytical Chemistry is currently seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate (temporary replacement).

Extent of employment: 40 hours per week
Duration of employment: 13th of May 2026, for the time being until the end of maternity leave
(with the option to extend the employment for the duration of parental leave)

Allocation in compliance with the Collective Agreement for University Staff to job group: B1 lit. b
Gross monthly salary: (depending on previous eligible experience) at least: € 5.014,30
(payable 14 times per year)

Responsibilities

• Development, implementation and validation of analytical methods based on ICP-MS for accurate elemental and isotope ratio analysis
• Execution and administration of third-party financed national and international research projects
• Independent research and publication acitivity in the field of analytical chemistry
• Cooperation and interdisciplinary activities with other research groups at BOKU University
• Participation in teaching courses
• Teaching and supervision or co-supervision of theses within the framework of the legal possibilities

Required skills and qualifications

• Doctorate degree / PhD in Analytical Chemistry
• Language skills: Fluent in spoken and written English
• Experience in elemental mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) in theory and practice
• Proof of independent publication activity
• Enthusiasm for excellent teaching
• Teamwork
• Lecturing experience and good presentation skills
• Very good MS-Office knowledge
• Experience with data evaluation and statistics
• Organizational skills and independence

Desirable skills and qualifications

• Experience in accurate isotope amount ratio analysis with multicollector-ICP-MS
• Experience with ultra-trace analysis in a clean room environment
• Fluent in spoken and written German
