TU Vienna starts PhD School of Informatics
The Faculty of Informatics of the Vienna University of Technology (TU Vienna) starts with an international PhD School of Informatics in October 2009. The PhD School is funded by TU Vienna, the City of Vienna as well as private sponsors. Each year a maximum of 15 scholarships will be awarded to national as well as international students. The PhD-School's curriculum covers the five main research areas of the Faculty of Informatics. "TU Vienna aims at positioning this PhD School of Informatics at a high level of excellence within the international community", says Prof. Gerald Steinhardt, Dean of the Faculty of Informatics. The school is designed to invite renowned international guest lecturers as well as to integrate public and private organizations in order to facilitate long term cooperations. All courses are held in English.
