Offer Description

The Department of Landscape, Water and Infrastructure , Institute of Green Civil Engineering , is currently seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate.

Extent of employment: 40 hours per week
Duration of employment: 1st of July 2026, limited to 30th of June 2028
(with option for temporary extension)
Workplace: 1190 Vienna
Allocation in compliance with the Collective Agreement for University Staff to job group: B1 lit. b
Gross monthly salary: (depending on previous eligible experience) at least: € 5.014,30
(payable 14 times per year)

Responsibilities

• Independent work on the application for and implementation of the institute’s research projects, particularly regarding adaptive building envelopes, bio-based construction materials, reclaimed building materials, and fiber-reinforced composites
• Participation in the planning and execution of courses at the institute
• Writing and contributing to scientific publications
• lnvolvement in organizational and administrative tasks
• Co-supervision of Doctoral, Master and Bachelor theses
• Organization and management of equipment

Required skills and qualifications

• Doctorate degree / PhD in Engineering Science, Architecture, Agricultural Science, Civil Engineering or a comparable field
• Language skills: very good German and English skills
• Knowledge in CAD and CAM

Desired skills and qualifications

• Experience with fiber-reinforced composites
• Experience with design and development of architectural research demonstratores
• Experience with robotic fabrication
• Experience with LCA (Life Cycle Assessment)
• Experience with building simulation software (e.g., Ladybug)
