As ’buddies’ in the Austrian Universities’ MORE programme, Nina and Maria were surprised how quickly they could understand each other despite having different cultures - and how fast a friendship could develop.
Nina and Maria got to know each other through the MORE initiative for refugees at TU Graz. Read the interview to find out what they have to say about unfamiliarity, cultural exchange and time management. Maria is Iranian and Nina is Austrian and they both sealed their friendship by email - as a supervisor and supervised person, mediated by the Welcome Center and the TU Graz Students' Union in the framework of the Austria-wide MORE initiative. MORE is aimed at refugees who want to find out about different ways of studying and who want to improve their language skills.
