The Erasmus Mundus Joint Master programme " Sustainability in Agriculture, Food Production and Food Technology in the Danube Region " (Danube AgriFood Master - DAFM) focuses on sustainable development as competent response to the upcoming challenges of climate change and protection and promotion of livelihoods. It uses the Danube region as a model region for all riparian regions worldwide.
Understanding the intercultural and regional aspects of sustainable agriculture and food technology is crucial in finding viable pathways to long-term success in Central and Eastern European agriculture. This joint Master’s programme will give students the opportunity to improve their knowledge and grow their skill set with regard to the intercultural and social aspects, anthropic landscape and natural resources of sustainability in agriculture and the food industry in the Danube region.
The Danube Agrifood Erasmus Mundus programme is aimed at (BOKU students are welcome to apply!):
- scholarship students: EU are welcome to apply (1.400 EUR monthly scholarship for max. 24 months)
- tuition fee free students: EU are welcome to apply (the tuition fee for the DAFM programme is 4.500 EUR for programme and 9.000 EUR for partner country candidates) and also
- self payer candidates
Mobility Track
Each student has to study at two different European universities according to the chosen specialization and mobility track:Specialization 1: Sustainability in Food Production and Food Technology
- 1st year: at MATE (Hungary) or CZU (Czech Republic)
- 2nd year: at ULST (former BUASVMT, Romania), SUA (Slovakia) or BOKU (Austria)
Specialization 2: Sustainability in Agriculture
- 1st year: at MATE (Hungary) or CZU (Czech Republic)
- 2nd year: at UNIZG (Croatia), UNS (Serbia) or BOKU (Austria)
Both specializations include:
- Joint online start up module
- Compulsory summer or winter school
- Compulsory internship
