Foto: privat - Viktoria König, Vera Vorstandlechner and Paul Supper from MedUni Vienna's Department of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery recently received awards for their work at congresses. Viktoria König received the 1st and Vera Vorstandlechner the 2nd lecture prize at the 40th Surgical Anesthesiology Symposium of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital (N.Y. Maryana Teufelsbauer, winner of the lecture prize in both previous years, was accepted onto the faculty of the congress this year. Paul Supper won the 1st lecture prize at the 41st annual congress of the German-speaking Association for Burn Treatment. Viktoria König impressed the audience with her presentation on high-voltage injuries and train surfing among young people. These accidents are often accompanied by particularly serious injury patterns that require extremely complex operations as well as coordinated multidisciplinary treatment. An awareness campaign was also presented, which was launched together with ÖBB due to the high number of accidents caused by train surfing.
