(c) MedUni Wien/feelimage Alex Farr, Deputy Head of the Division of Obstetrics and Feto-Maternal Medicine at MedUni Vienna's Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, was elected as the new President of the Austrian Society for Preand Perinatal Medicine at its anniversary conference in Vienna. The society is one of the few interdisciplinary societies in the field of perinatology in Europe. Alex Farr takes over this position from Christian Dadak and will now steer the fortunes of the Austrian Society for Preand Perinatal Medicine. The society is a national specialist society that unites the fields of obstetrics, neonatology, anaesthesia, paediatric surgery, radiology and midwifery. This interdisciplinary care is exemplified by the Comprehensive Centre for Pediatrics (CCP) at MedUni Vienna. It is a Europe-wide flagship project that brings together and networks all experts for pregnant women, children and adolescents at the Medical University of Vienna at one location. The focus is on interdisciplinary exchange in order to guarantee optimal medical care for pregnant women, children and adolescents with acutely life-threatening, rare diseases or chronic conditions.
