Mittwoch, 18. März 2026, 09:00 - 10:00 My doctoral research addresses a central question: what is the prison? Is it a disciplinary device that, through punishment, disciplines bodies? Or is it a security-oriented device that performs an eliminative function toward forms of behaviour deemed dangerous to society? By using the category of "punitive regime" and through an analysis of the spatial dimension of the Italian penitentiary system, the presentation seeks to explore and clarify these issues.
