Termin vormerken On the interaction between ancient fable and literary genres This conference aims to examine ancient fables in their interaction with other literary genres, whether it be poetry, such as tragedy, comedy, epic and lyric, or prose like philosophical texts, historiography, rhetoric, scientific literature, speeches, novels, letters, and the Old and New Testaments: A multitude of different literary texts seem to interact with ancient fable. By asking what role fables play in individual genres and which genres find an echo in fable poetry, the conference looks to investigate genre boundaries, genre overlaps and the interaction between different genres.
