The Technical University of Leoben is deeply saddened by yesterday’s events. The tragic incident in Graz has deeply shaken our entire university community and leaves us speechless.

Our thoughts are with the victims, their families and all those affected by this inconceivable act.

In recognition of the victims and as a sign of our shared grief, a three-day period of national mourning has been declared. We at the TU Leboen also join in this mourning.

As a sign of sympathy and out of respect for the victims, the Rectorate has decided to cancel all’events at the TU Leoben that have a festive character and are planned until Sunday. This affects:
  • the ceremonial opening of the House of Digitalization (on June 13 )
  • the graduate reunion (on June 13 )
  • the Cellissimo concert (June 14 )

Information and teaching events will take place as planned. These include the information day for prospective students (on June 13 ) and the Delta Academy event (on June 11 ). From next week onwards, all’events at TU Leoben will take place again as planned.

Especially in these difficult times, it is more important than ever that we stand together as a community and support each other - with compassion, strength and consideration!
