FH Salzburg is committed to equal opportunities and equal participation in all dimensions of diversity, including the empowerment of women. The Female Mentoring Programme for female students, which was launched in 2023, started again in October 2024. It aims to promote female careers and prepare participants for a successful professional career.
Mentoring offers numerous advantages: It enables the exchange of experience, offers support and promotes talent. At the FH Salzburg, female students are also supported in gaining clarity about their career path and benefiting from a committed network. As part of the female mentoring programme , FH students are networked with mentors - successful female graduates and women from the FH company network.
Personal mentoring for career and personal development
The core of the programme is personal 1:1 mentoring between a female student and a female mentor. In regular meetings during the 9-month tandem phase, they can work on topics relating to career and personal development and benefit from the mentors’ expertise.
In the current academic year, a total of 23 mentoring pairs - 23 female students and 23 female mentors - have been formed. The ’kick-off’ for this year’s mentoring programme took place on 17 October 2024 at the Urstein Campus. One highlight of the evening was the keynote speech by Kosima Kovar, founder of the app ’Viora - Visible through confidence’ (formerly ’Ada Growth’), on the topic of ’Why the advancement of women is still necessary’. She reported on her own experiences as a founder and explained how the Viora app supports women in their personal development. The FH Salzburg provides the Ada app to female students in the mentoring programme free of charge for six months.
Career services for students: The FH Salzburg Career Center prepares students for their entry into the professional world with workshops, coaching, individual CV checks and career advice. There is also a digital job platform with many job advertisements and annual job and career fairs such as ’Contacta’.
