Mattias Mandorfer and Matthias Pinter elected to the Educational and Scientific Committees of the European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL)

Two representatives of the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology of the Department of Medicine III, Mattias Mandorfer and Matthias Pinter, have been elected to central committees of the European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL).

Mattias Mandorfer heads the Vienna Hepatic Hemodynamic Lab and specializes in the non-invasive and minimally invasive diagnosis of liver diseases, portal hypertension and complications of liver cirrhosis, as well as hepatitis C and alpha-1-antitrypsin deficiency. The Educational Committee of the EASL coordinates the education and training activities of the specialist society.

The main task of the Scientific Committee is to organize the content of the society’s annual conference. It is also part of the EASL Governing Board. As head of the Vienna Liver Cancer Study Group, Matthias Pinter contributes his expertise in the field of liver tumors to the central governing body of the leading hepatology society.
