Awards for dermatologists at MedUni Vienna

Representatives of MedUni Vienna’s Department of Dermatology have been awarded a number of prizes at this year’s annual meeting of the Austrian Society of Dermatology and Venereology in Graz.

The Ferdinand von Hebra Prize is awarded every two years for a "coherent opus and publications" and this year went to Adelheid Elbe-Bürger.

Anna Gabriel received the Heinrich Auspitz Prize for "Efficacy and safety of mTOR inhibition in cutaneous sarcoidosis: a single-center trial", published in Lancet Rheumatology.

Agnes Forsthuber also received the Heinrich Auspitz Prize for her work "Cancer-associated fibroblast subtypes modulate the tumor-immune microenvironment and are associated with skin cancer malignancy", published in Nature Communications.

Katja Knapp received the science prize for "Combination of compound screening with an animal model identifies pentamidine to prevent Chlamydia trachomatis infection", published in Cell Reports Medicine.

Sophie Frech also received the Anton Luger Prize for her dissertation entitled "Dermal fibroblast lineages in skin homeostasis and wound healing".
