The departments of Cellular Biology and Mathematics have jointly organized a interdisciplinary conference in which scientists and students meet to present and discuss biomedical-oriented research topics and statistically relevant data analyses.
Die Themenbereiche umfassen u.a. forensische Untersuchungen an Muskelgewebe, NETosis in COPD, Epidermolysis bullosa Forschung, Stressund Alternsforschung u.v.m. Ergänzt wird dieses Seminar durch wissenschaftliche Beiträge externer Kooperationspartner aus der PMU und aus der Industrie über Karrieremöglichkeiten in nationalen und multinationalen Konzernen.

Salzburger researchers launch study on the influence of hormones on language processing.In a collaborative project, linguists and neuroscientists at the University of Salzburg investigate the influence of hormones on how the brain processes information in learning language. The focus is the question of what role the female sex hormone estrogen plays in neurocognition of language. There is evidence that estrogen facilitates the learning vocabulary.
