The Superti-Furga laboratory at CeMM in Vienna is contributing to the scientific fundaments of precision medicine. The lab’s work addresses the mechanisms by which cells respond to challenges that perturb homeostasis, may these challenges be drugs, viruses or oncogenic mutations, and how homeostasis can subsequently be restored. Strategically, the laboratory investigates large networks of proteins, genes and metabolites, while also focusing on the mechanistic understanding of individual proteins, protein complexes and drug function. In recent years, the laboratory has focused on understanding the interplay of membrane transporters which can be considered the managers of the interface between chemistry and biology, and between organisms and their environment.
To organize the scientific activities regarding the application and the management of a large grant on human membrane transporters and their role in physiology and pharmacology, we are currently searching for a
Scientific Project Manager (m/f)

In this challenging core position unifying science and management, you will be responsible for the comprehensive project management of a large collaborative grant focusing on membrane transporters.
Following the successful grant application, the Scientific Project Manager will coordinate and manage a highly remunerated scientific grant. Reporting directly to the Scientific Director of the institute, you will provide scientific contribution to the project and you will be responsible for the entire project cycle. On a day-to-day basis you will monitor the project status and the project progress, you will set project goals and ensure the achievement of defined milestones. The Scientific Project Manager will help the team to put their plans into practice and will organize regular project meetings to ensure effective communication within the project team. This role combines scientific work and project management and is perfectly suited for senior scientists with previous project management experience, organizational talent and strong communication skills.
The Superti-Furga laboratory consists of a highly collaborative team of 30 scientists from 12 nations. In the last three years, we published about 70 papers, among which 10% in Nature, Science or Cell and 15 in Nature sister journals.
