    Responsibilities
    Coordinate and process international projects in the field of river basin and water management as a project leader or partner Perform both organizational and methodological / analytical tasks and support in project dissemination and communication management Identify funding sources in the field of international river basin management and set up project proposals Expand and cultivate a network of international organizations and research partners in the context of river basin management and water resources Initiate, organize and moderate international meetings and workshops Support coordinating the World’s Large Rivers Initiative (WLRI) Maintain and foster activities of the UNESCO Chair for Integrated River Research and Management Collaborate and work with other water-related initiatives projects, UNESCO Chairs, UNESCO Centres and programs Establish and regularly maintain project homepages Support the organization of scientific conferences Participate at national and international scientific conferences and events Write scientific publications (among others also in SCI journals) Manage the peer-review process of special issues of research journals

    Required skills and qualifications
    University degree in Environmental Engineering and Management, Social or Economic Sciences (or other relevant University degrees); at least Master’s level (a specialization in Water Management would be an advantage)

    Desirable skills and qualifications
    Doctorate degree Professional experience in EU funded, transnational projects (dissemination and management) General experience in project management, coordination and controlling with a specialization in river basins and water resources and / or experience in international organizations Scientific record in river research is an advantage Knowledge and interest on international river basin management and interdisciplinary research Knowledge on water-related international organizations, programs and initiatives and their functioning (UNESCO-IHP, Worldbank, UNEP, UNDP, GEF, ADB, etc.) Experience with national and international project acquisition with respect to technical and financial issues, esp.
    knowledge on relevant international funding programs Excellent communication skills in German and English (knowledge of one or more additional languages, esp.
    French is an asset) Interpersonal and diplomatic skills IT affinity and experience with relevant IT tools Ability to operate in a complex international environment Ability to travel regularly internationally with short notice and to work abroad for some time (if required) Experience in facilitation and moderation of workshops Willing to perform tasks outside the main expertise as and when required/requested Ability to perform well under stress Reliable, independent and well-organized working style Interest and enthusiasm to work in a team Applications can be submitted until:
