The advertised position is situated within the team of Univ.-Prof. Dr. Ayse Caglar.

Duration of employment: 6 year/s

Extent of Employment: 40 hours/week
Job grading in accordance with collective bargaining agreement : §48 VwGr. B1 lit. b (postdoc) with relevant work experience determining the assignment to a particular salary grade.

Job Description:
  • Participation in research, teaching and administration
  • Designing, conducting, evaluating research
  • Cooperate in the organization of international workshops and conferences and the preparation of publications
  • (International) publishing and presentation activities
  • Project application and (external) fundraising
  • Preparation /Finalization of a (publishable) habilitation
  • Holding classes due to extent regulations of wage agreement
  • Examination activities
  • Support of students
  • Participation in evaluation activities and in quality assurance
  • Participation in administration of the department

  • PhD in the field Anthropology (MA or PhD within an English speaking program is preferable)
  • Should have done empirical work including fieldwork
  • Focus on one or more of the following research fields: processes of displacement and dispossession, urban restructuring, different forms of zoning (including economic zones) and of their governance
  • Comparative research with a historical perspective and a research focus outside of Europe are welcome
