University of Vienna achieves excellent results in all major rankings In 2023, the University of Vienna was able to significantly improve in all three higher education rankings (THE, QS, Shanghai) assessing entire universities, which are, due to their international visibility, the most important ones.
Shanghai Ranking of Academic Subjects: University of Vienna in 3rd place worldwide in Communication Science (October 2023)
- Communication Science: 3rd place (among 300 universities ranked) and improvement from 7th place in 2022
- Physics: significant improvement from 301st-400th place in 2022 to 48th place in 2023 (among 500 universities ranked)
- Mathematics: 34th place as well as Political Science: 50th place (among 500 universities in each category)
