The FH Salzburg promotes equal participation and equal opportunities in all dimensions of diversity. This also includes the promotion of women. The aim of the mentoring programme is to promote female careers and prepare female students for a successful career. To this end, they are provided with an experienced mentor as part of the programme. The mentees (= female students) meet regularly with their mentors over the course of an academic year. "They discuss topics such as career and personal development and support the students with their final thesis," explains initiator and project manager Ingrid Langthaler from the Career Service at Salzburg University of Applied Sciences. Through the exchange, the students can benefit from the mentors’ expertise and network, define professional goals and gain new perspectives.
For FH Salzburg Rector and Managing Director Dominik Engel, the initiative is a further contribution towards equal opportunities: "The topic of promoting women is important to us at FH Salzburg. I am therefore very pleased that we are able to offer this programme to our female students. I would also like to thank the mentors in particular for the valuable time, knowledge and experience they contribute. We are proud that the programme has been so well received - we have had extremely positive feedback. We are therefore all the more pleased that we will be continuing the programme in the next academic year."
