Montanuniversität Leoben, TU Bergakademie Freiberg and Universidad de León signed the agreement for the first international Joint Master's Programme in Responsible Consumption and Production (RCP), launched by EURECA-PRO, starting next academic year 2023/2024.

The European Student Assembly provided a platform for 240 students from 44 European university alliances to engage in hought-provoking discussions and to shape the future of Europe. With a focus on ten topics of high importance, participants came together to exchange ideas, share insights, and collectively work towards shaping the future of Europe. Students of the EURECA-PRO alliance had the privilege of representing three out of nine partner universities (Montanuniversität Leoben, Universidad de León, Universitatea din Petrosani) in four panels.

On 7th June 2023, a delegation of Hunan University of Science and Technology (HNUST) led by his president Prof. Yayang Tang visited MUL.

The course of the chronic inflammatory nerve disease multiple sclerosis can vary greatly. Individualized therapies for MS sufferers require early and precise prediction of future disease activity.

The 23rd Austrian Climate Day, the most significant interdisciplinary networking event of the Austrian climate research community, is currently taking place at Montanuniversität Leoben. Under the motto "Resources in Transition", scientists are discussing the current challenges in the fields of resources, climate, energy and environment. In a newly designed "Junior Conference", young people interested in research will also be participating in the conference.

The delegation of University of Science and Technology Beijing (USTB), led by its President Prof. Renshu Yang, visited MUL on 4th and 5th July, 2023.

The new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Austria, Mrs Mei Qi, visited Montanuniversität Leoben on 14th June 2023, together with her colleagues, Mr. Fengyun Lei, Counsellor for Technology Affairs, and Mrs. Chongling Huang, Leader for Education Affairs, as well as Attaché Ms. Chengxu Li.

The semi-annual EURECA-PRO Review Week was held at the University of Petrosani from 8th to 12th May 2023. Researchers and students associated with the EURECA-PRO University Consortium visited Romania to exchange experiences and to plan future activities.

Safety and Disaster Management is a new interdisciplinary degree programme at Montanuniversität Leoben and prepares professionals for disaster situations.
