Professor Stefan Pogatscher received the ERC Consolidator Grant for his research into sustainable light metal alloys. This was the next important honour to be awarded to the metallurgist from Leoben after the ERC Starting Grant. He is the first scientist at the University of Leoben to achieve this.
Montanuniversität Leoben, TU Bergakademie Freiberg and Universidad de León signed the agreement for the first international Joint Master's Programme in Responsible Consumption and Production (RCP), launched by EURECA-PRO, starting next academic year 2023/2024.
The European Student Assembly provided a platform for 240 students from 44 European university alliances to engage in hought-provoking discussions and to shape the future of Europe. With a focus on ten topics of high importance, participants came together to exchange ideas, share insights, and collectively work towards shaping the future of Europe. Students of the EURECA-PRO alliance had the privilege of representing three out of nine partner universities (Montanuniversität Leoben, Universidad de León, Universitatea din Petrosani) in four panels.

The new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Austria, Mrs Mei Qi, visited Montanuniversität Leoben on 14th June 2023, together with her colleagues, Mr. Fengyun Lei, Counsellor for Technology Affairs, and Mrs. Chongling Huang, Leader for Education Affairs, as well as Attaché Ms. Chengxu Li.
