The position is located at the work group for Historical and Comparative School and Empirical Research at the department of education. The department’s main responsibilities lie within the area of research and teaching in the field of education. Research adresses the description, critical analysis and explanation of phenomena of education and learning. Your subject area will include work regarding within the unit research lying conducted longitudinal analysis of empirical and comperative exploration of educational pathways and school experiences.

Duration of employment: 3 year/s

Extent of Employment: 40 hours/week Job grading in accordance with collective bargaining agreement : §48 VwGr. B1 lit. b (postdoc) with relevant work experience determining the assignment to a particular salary grade.

Job Description:
Active participation in research, teaching and administration. This involves
  • Developing and strengthening the independent research profile
  • International publications and presentations
  • Responsibility for project applications and the acquisition of third-party funding
  • Independent teaching of courses as defined by the collective agreement
  • Supervision of students
  • Participation in evaluation measures and quality assurance

  • Doctoral degree/PhD degree; main focus on school and education research and evaluation research
  • Study and work experience abroad
  • High specialist and methodological competence with main focus on quantitative research and mixed-methods research
  • Excellent didactic competence
  • High ability to express yourself both orally and in writing
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • IT user skills
  • Ability to work in a team

    In addition, we expect the successful candidate to have
  • Teaching experience / experience of working with e-learning
  • Publications in renowned, subject-relevant media (peer-reviewed, depending on the professional standards)

    Desirable qualifications are
  • Experience in acquisition of third-party-fundying
  • Knowledge of university processes and structures
  • Experience of supervising students
